A man charged with murder and DUI in a deadly wrong-way crash on Highway 101 has been denied bail.
The California Highway Patrol says David Worthington Ross, 47, was driving the wrong way in the southbound lanes of the highway in San Luis Obispo when his truck crashed head-on into another car in August, killing a 55-year-old Grover Beach man.
On Wednesday, Oct, 13, a San Luis Obispo County judge ordered Ross to remain in custody without bail.
The decision followed arguments from attorneys and victim impact statements, according to the San Luis Obispo County District Attorney’s Office, which states the judge said the severity of the crash and continued risk to the public were factors in the decision.
Ross has pleaded not guilty and is due back in court on Nov. 18.
