Fallen tree closes southbound Highway 101 in Goleta

UPDATE (11:55 a.m.) – According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, all northbound lanes are now open and one southbound lane was open as of 11 a.m. with crews continuing work to clear the lanes.

(10:25 a.m.) – The southbound lanes of Highway 101 just south of Fairview Ave. in Goleta are closed after a large eucalyptus tree fell, blocking all lanes.

Part of the tree is also blocking one of the northbound lanes of traffic.

It happened at about 9:10 a.m. on Monday, and according to the California Highway Patrol, it’s unknown when the road will be reopened.

Traffic is reportedly being diverted at the Fairview offramp.
